Anchor Locker
Has anyone constructed an anchor locker in the foredeck of their C&C? I'm thinking 1974 30 Mk1 in particular, but the principals would be the same.

Hi Scott
I saw one on the "new" 30 Mk 1 and thought a good idea. I don't know how big it is inside. It is a relativly easy thing to do if you are good at glass work. I thought it could penetrate back thru the fwd bulkhead to increase the size. Any strength lost in the deck could be put back in by the box under the deck. You could also just put a well in to hold a danforth in a vertical position instead. I think the Ontario 32 has a good well with the windlass in it. I have a bunch of other work to do before I tackle this one but I would like to hear the listers ideas.

Hi Scott,
If/when you build it, please don't forget the drainage hole.

Take a look at later 30's. My 1980 version has an anchor locker - I assume it came that way.
I've looked at lots of 30's and compared them to ours built in '73. It seems that the factory regularly modified the molds to add little things here and there. I've noticed new or easier access to storage areas, new features, and modified shapes. This is in addition to equipment changes and/or upgrades over the years.
I don't think that any required wholesale changes to the molds. It seems that the factory was always "tweaking" the molds to improve the product.
