Manufacturer's Comments
The Tanzer 31 was designed by George Cuthbertson as a fast and roomy performance cruiser as well as a competitive club racing yacht. The designer was, for over twenty years, Chief Designer of Cuthbertson and Cassian Ltd., and C&C Yachts Ltd. Additionally, for a further eight years he served as President and eventually Charman of the Board of C&C. Many thousands of yachts designed by George Cuthbertson are sailing throughout North America and Europe. Yachts of his design have won the S.O.R.C. (twice), Canada's Cup, the Mackinac Race, the Swiftsure, the St. Petersburg/Fort Lauderdale race as well as the Bermuda Race on elapsed time. The combination of George Cuthbertson's outstanding, proven design skills with Tanzer's reputation for building fast, comfortable and carefully crafted sailing yachts at affordable prices has resulted in a very spacious and exceptionally pretty, well behaved and 'fast passage' sailing yacht. A deep fin keel version drawing 5'3" is also available for those who desire a fully competitive club racer.
