Owner's Reviews for the 1984 C&C 27 Mk V
The C&C 27 MK V is a MORC-inspired design that resulted in a fast but light racer-cruiser. The boat is very nimble, yet fairly stiff in a blow. The helm is very neutral. The boat was built with quite a bit of teak below deck. The cabin is somewhat small, but well thought-out and perfect for week-long sails for a couple. All lines are led aft, making the boat a pleasure to single-hand. Construction is unusually sturdy because, I am told, C&C borrowed from the design and construction of its larger boats when building the Mk V.
The C&C 27 MK V is a very attractive 27-footer, with an upswept deck, the classic razor-line C&C bow, and outboard rudder.
The only weakness that I feel the boat has is that the Yanmar 1GM10 engine underpowers the boat, especially when motoring in strong winds. Motor-sailing is a must in these conditions.
All-in-all, I am very pleased with the boat. Because it sails so well, and has the beautiful C&C look, I plan to keep this boat for quite some time.

Raced from Sarasota FL., to Havana, then across Yucatan is Isla Mejures, Mexico. Then it was
non-stop back to Sarasota. Great boat! We crossed quite a bit of water in her. Also is
a great small cruiser/racer.
