Fast and fun sloop that is brilliant in light air. 27'11" length on deck and well designed interior make for comfortable weekends. Starting in 1980, standard engine is Yanmar 2GM replacing 1GM. Easy to sail in 5 knots of wind, surfs controllably down waves under spinnaker, large cockpit , strongly built, all but self-steering upwind (previous owner claims to have tied the tiller instead of using the autohelm), and pleasing lines. Can be exciting broad reaching in strong winds, mast bend essential in winds over 20 knots, more than average difficulty reversing under power, and not as close winded as newer racing boats. For overall satisfaction, it took me only one test sail to see how C+C managed to sell 980 of these between 1971 and 1982. A fast, comfortable cruiser ideally suited for the light air common to the Vancouver area.
